FA Award for Boston saturday Football League
The Boston Saturday Football League, fresh from winning it's highly prestigious National F.A. grassroots award, kicked off another season with three new clubs and two new reserve sides. So its a warm welcome to the three new clubs, namely, East Coast, Fulbeck and Horncastle Town Reserves and two new reserve sides, Fosdyke Reserves and Boston College Reserves.
While Premier champions were losing heavily at Pointon (5-2) Last season's runners-up, Spilsby Town had no such trouble, trouncing Heckington Millers 8-0. Swineshead also recorded a big win - 6-2 against Ruskington Rovers. In Taylors Peugeot Division One, newly promoted, Railway Athletic got their season off to a flying start with a 1-0 away win at FC Kirton, who were also promoted from last time around. There was one casualty in Taylors Ford Division Two where new side, East Coast pulled out of their fixture at Boston International because they had no Coach to run the side. Sibsey won 4-2 at Fishtoft Reserves. In Taylors Vauxhall Division Three there were two draws with Wyberton 'A' being held at home by Boston Titans (3-3) and Leverton Reserves and Spalding Harriers sharing the points following a 2-2 draw. Benington Reserves narrowly beat Holbeach Bank 2-1.
